Sunbow's Beach Head wore his 1986 outfit, sometimes with no gloves. On several occasions (Computer Complications, Once Upon a Joe) he was drawn without his face mask for a shot or two. In such shots he had reddish-brown hair. He held authority just under Flint, alongside Sgt. Slaughter. Whereas the Sunbow series gave the character a deep-South accent and a gruff demeanor, the Reel FX Beachhead was a California surfer dude, and wore the 2003 outfit.

An airborne ranger through and through, he cheerfully rises before the sun, runs his ten miles before the regular unit physical training session, and shouts, "More P.T., DUKE!" at the top of his lungs while doing twice the usual jumping jacks. A hard charger and a soft touch, BEACHHEAD can always be counted on to stand the whole team for a round of sodas at the P.X. snack bar. Gregarious and sociable, BEACHHEAD is amazingly well-liked for an individual who never takes off his ski-mask and frequently jumps down to do a hundred push-ups during lulls in conversations. He is a national-level competitive battle-rifle marksman and is extremely proficient with a variety of edged weapons and blunt instruments.
"I'm the kind of guy who likes to hear stuff go bang. Can't stand watching TV or movies and I don't like to play video games. I like everything happening right in my face. If I didn't have this job, I'd be in a world o' trouble."

| Accessories: dark grey submachine gun (86 Beach Head's), dark grey knife (91 Low-Light's), black backpack (91 Low-Light's), clear figure stand (common).
| BEACHHEAD has always been a perfectionist. Since his youth, he has fought for right and justice - even if it meant having to impose his personal behavioral standards on local thugs, punks, and other motley criminals who hung-out [sic] in his beloved swamps and forests of Alabama. As a prominent member of the G.I. Joe team, he enjoys being able to teach COBRA the same lessons - the more disorganized, unprofessional, and irrational the villains, the better.
BEACHHEAD has been waiting his entire G.I. Joe career for the chance to lead, having distinguished himself in many of the group's most high-profile operations and special teams. He is resilient, tenacious, efficient, and sometimes downright scary. His patience and determination in climbing the chain of command have finally paid off, having been appointed field leader of Tiger Force, the most elite of all Joe special missions teams. Now he just hopes no higher ranking Joes decide to tag along and tell him he's not in charge!
"I'm all business, no bull. And what's under this mask is none of your business."
