Mega-Viper

Previous character: Crimson Guard Commander
Next character: Mirage

Animated Appearances

To my knowledge, Mega-Vipers were never animated.

Headcanon

Mega-Vipers were introduced to Cobra's forces in early 1988, selected by Dr. Mindbender from Cobra's best Techno-Vipers to train the Mega-Monsters and supervise them on missions. The Mega-Vipers used their mechanical knowledge to manage the Mega-Monsters as organic machines and to steer them toward the most vulnerable spots on G.I. Joe vehicles. They ranked in the second tier of Vipers, above Tele-Vipers and Techno-Vipers, and alongside Alley Vipers and Cyber-Vipers.

MEGA-VIPERS are the driving force behind the Cobra MEGA-MONSTERS, and they go right into the thick of battle with the Monsters to prove it. There's not much out there that's more terrifying than a bunch of highly trained Mega-Vipers charging at you with a few Mega-Monsters by their sides . . . talk about a wave of destruction! Although intelligence commands for the Monsters are issued by DR.MINDBENDER or through his CYBER-VIPERS, it's the skilled tactics and "fight to the fiinish" attitude of the Mega-Vipers that lead the Monsters on their attack missions. Doing the dirty work, with or without the Mega-Monsters, is what the Mega-Vipers do best!
Toy Notes: Item #6929. Included pink Moldable Bio-Armor similar to Play-Doh that could be formed around the figure using the mold.
