Skeletons in the Closet

53rd of 55 episodes in Sunbow season 1. Written by Flint Dille. First aired December 11, 1985.

Previous episode: The Great Alaskan Land Rush
Next episode: There's No Place Like Springfield, Part 1

Destro and the Baroness are gathering funds to retire from Cobra together. The Joes raid Destro's auction of old Cobra equipment, but Destro escapes with the help of a mysterious admirer. Destro denies being close to the Baroness and tells the woman his family's story, indicating that an annual gathering was approaching. At Joe Headquarters, Lady Jaye receives word that she has inherited a mansion in Scotland.

Lady Jaye visits the mansion and is told by the housekeeper that it is haunted. That night, she follows a ghost down to a cellar and sees figures in animal masks in the midst of a cultic ritual. She is captured and about to be fed to an octopus-like creature when Destro stops the ritual and reveals the mansion to be his ancestral home. She is rescued by Flint, who calls in a Joe strike team. Cobra troops defend the castle as Flint and Lady Jaye flee the cult members. Once inside the mansion, Barbecue finds a projection room and creates images of ghosts that scare off the Cobras. The house burns, and the Baroness reveals she arranged the situation out of jealousy, and that Lady Jaye and Destro are actually related.
