In Thailand, Beach Head leads a team against river pirates selling a mind-altering drug. In Bangkok, the Joes run across "dust children," one of whom has recently stolen a knife belonging to Torch (since the Dreadnoks are in town for Cobra's operation). As the Joes surmise Cobra's plan, Leatherneck decides to teach the children discipline.
Dr. Mindbender is revealed to be processing the mind-altering tree sap into chewing gum that renders its consumers suggestible. Leatherneck, Roadblock, and Gung-Ho tangle with the Dreadnoks and follow them into a Cobra ambush. The dust children find the other Joes, whom Zarana leads into a trap. The children free all the Joes, and Leatherneck brings down Cobra's transport plane, destroying the cargo of drugs.
