Cobra orders scientist Dr. Marsh to lead them to treasure inside an Egyptian tomb. Joes hidden inside a captured convoy enter the tomb, but Cobra secretly waits outside, hoping the Joes will trigger any traps inside. Indeed they do, and they are quickly trapped. Lady Jaye interprets the heiroglyphics to find that the tomb is connected to the ancient gods of Egypt. Once the Joes can go no further, Cobra Commander reveals himself by speaking through a small air tunnel. The Joes pretend to have found the treasure and don the uniforms of Crimson Guardsmen sent to find them. But the disguised Joes somehow manage to lead Cobra Commander to the actual Crown of Osiris.
Suddenly, the Joes and Dr. Marsh are taken farther underground via a sort of elevator, and they emerge in outer space, where Egyptian god figures place them on trial. Meanwhile, Cobra Commander and the Baroness are confronted by the god Set. The Joes pass their trial through self-sacrifice, but they are regarded dead and sent onto Anubis's ferry. Cobra Commander makes a deal with Set to use Cobra's armies to destroy Osiris. As Cobra leaves with the tomb's treasure, the Joes convince Anubis to help them stop Cobra, and they are returned to the realm of the living.
