Countdown for Zartan

As Storm Shadow and the Dreadnoks train new Cobra recruits, Cobra Commander sends Zartan to plant a bomb at the new Worldwide Defense Center. Disguised as scientist Dr. Mettier, Zartan plants the bomb but is discovered by Spirit. Spirit is captured by Storm Shadow, but Freedom escapes to alert the Joes, who rally to the center and hold Zartan there.

Zartan ultimately decides to save his own life by revealing the bomb's location. The Joes defuse it, but Zartan escapes confinement shortly thereafter. Meanwhile, Storm Shadow stops the Dreadnoks from torturing Spirit and the real Dr. Mettier and leaves them unattended, giving them the opportunity to escape. Noticing that Zartan's bomb failed to destroy the building, Cobra's air forces attack the center. The Joes hold their own until Spirit arrives in a stolen Cobra Rattler and drives off the enemy.
