Arise, Serpentor, Arise! Part 1

The Joe Team has grown complacent and undisciplined, and Cobra uses the opportunity to attack Joe Headquarters with Stuns and their new Battle Android Troopers. The Joes are caught off guard and only win the day thanks to the arrival of Sgt. Slaughter. Dr. Mindbender and the Crimson Twins blame the attack on Cobra Commander's failed leadership.

As Sgt. Slaughter puts the Joes through intense training, Mindbender has recurring dreams of a DNA spiral and a new snake-hooded leader. Cobra Commander catches Dr. Mindbender, Destro, and the Twins discussing plans to construct the new leader from the DNA of history's greatest conquerors. The Crimson Guard turns on the Commander, forcing him to concede to their plans.

The Joes intercept a Cobra message pod intended for Zartan, contracting for unknown services that require his brother, sister, and a new Dreadnok. Slaughter leads a team to investigate, but Zartan's copy of the message is partly burned, and the Joes are attacked by the newest Dreadnok's Thunder Machine.
